At the Briar Hill Halla Presentation from Kevin VK3AKC – “My life as a Marconi Engineer”, for those of us lucky enough to have heard some of Kevin’s stories this promises to be a very entertaining evening. Note –QR-code login (preferred) or manual registration will be required at the hall!
Well we are back at the hall, finally!! Every Thursday afternoon radio cafe is running from 2pm till 5:30, later on meeting nights. We should be listening on VK3RMH and 146.575MHz. Come along and have a cuppa, a chat or operate the club station. The remote is turned off at these times.
You will need to sign in, we have a Q-code login available that uses the Vic Government app.
We are pleased to announce that we now have on-line training available. For the Foundation Licence we have three video sessions, two cover the theory and regulations and the third covers the practical assessment.
This allows people to study at their own time and rate rather than being tied to a particular course time.
For advanced and standard licence we have most of the course available and will be conducting some additional sessions in the near future to complete the suite of videos.
NOTE: All meetings currently suspended until further notice
The club has decided that there will be no face to face meetings until further notice. The Banyule City Council has closed the Brial Hill Community Hall.
The NERG Net runs on the 70cm VK3RMH repeater – look forward to hearing everyone on!! Set your RX Freq to 438.325MHz negative offset 5MHz 91.5Hz CTCSS every Thursday evening from 8:00 pm
Radio Cafe is back!! Well no its not!! the COVID-19 isue has over run us and so radio cafe is suspended. However we are radio amateurs so why not come up on 40M (7.110+or-), 2M (146.575) or 70cM - VK3RMH and say hello, we’ll be listening from 2pm local.
A very special presentation from Vladimir UA4WHX on DXpeditions. Vlad has operated from numerous rare countries and I am sure he will be telling some great stories and describing equipment including his single mast dipole array.
Yes the team have been busy!! The 70cm repeater is up and running TX 438.325MHz and RX 433.325MHz both C4FM and analogue FM at the new site in Kangaroo Ground. There is no Internet access available just yet so no internet linking is available. You will need a 91.5Hz CTCSS tone on your analogue FM TX and if you don’t want to be bothered listening to the C4FM digital signals on the output then set your radio to 91.5Hz CTCSS tone on RX as well. The antenna currently in use is small and low and will be replaced in the next few weeks by a larger and higher array.
A group meet at the club rooms every Thursday afternoon.
Come along and have a chat, operate the club station or show off your latest construction project. And of course have a cuppa. On meeting nights we usually arrange some form of dinner, hamburgers, pizza or fish & chips and continue through to the meeting.
